Biography:

Terry King (born September 15, 1948) is an American Funk, Rock & Roll, Soul and R&B singer – songwriter, record producer and a 1988 Rock and Roll Hall Hall Of Fame Inductee. He is a former member of the legendary group The Drifters on Atlantic Records. Terry King joined The Drifters 1976 to 1985. During the mid 80’s he attempted a solo career, releasing 4 hit singles “Jacuzzi Lover”, “First Love Affairs”, “I want You Back” and Electric Boyfriend” under Kingyomas Publishing, hinting top charts overseas, not soon after his EP released (summer of 1989), he’s musical career came to an end do to a tragic accident which almost left him in a wheelchair. Today he is a retired musical artist living in New York City, where he spend most of his time with his family and friends. He is also a volunteer spokesman for his community, helping today’s youth have a better understanding about the music business.

Early life and early career:
Terry King known to all his friends as Mr. King was born in New York City. Coming from a musical loving family, he first fell in love with music at a very early age, his father was a pastor & gospel singer at a local church, “I used to go to church with him & my aunt…..Man! we sure sang”.

Around the age of four his grandmother introduced him to the piano, and the rest is history. He had aunts who showed him how to read music notes and play the piano as well as a host of family , friends and mentors. The list is a who”s who. With time he grew up and developed a passion for singing as well.

Discography:
Terry King has been featured on many records since the early 60’s. He has shared the stages with many old and new talent. He was also a member of two well known groups The Temptations (Dennis Edwards & Eddie Kendricks, Damon Harris) and The Drifters (Charlie Thomas & Elsbarry Hobbs). who are Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees.

Testimony: “I remember sharing a 50 cents hot dog in Time Square with my good friend Nick Ashford (Motown’s Ashford & Simpson|Ash) (R.I.P.) Wow I still remember it like if it was yesterday, we both only had 25 cents each so we decided to share it”.

Career Achievements:
This extraordinary entrepreneur artist has been in the show business since the early 1960’s, the man has traveled the globe performing in Paris, Japan, Germany, Italy, Latin America and the United Kingdom, doing The Dirty Dancing Tour in 88 with J.T.Carters (The Crests) and Ronnie Spector.

Solo Career:
During the mid 80’s he attempted a solo career, releasing 4 hit singles “Jacuzzi Lover”, “First Love Affairs”, “I want You Back” and Electric Boyfriend” under Kingyomas Publishing, hinting top charts overseas, not soon after his EP released (summer of 1999), he’s musical career came to an ended do to a tragic accident which almost left him in a wheelchair.
